Settings
The Settings screen in NEON allows you to manage the core configurations of your system, from basic company information to billing rules and white-labeling.
Settings Tab
The Settings tab is divided into several sections:
- Company Information: Set your company name, default currency, and time zone.
- Contact & Address Information: Store your company’s contact person details and physical address for administrative records.
- General System Settings:
- Invoice Status: Create custom status labels for invoices.
- Decimal Places: Define how many decimal places should be shown for prices and rates throughout the system.
- Internal Call Length: Set the length for internal calls.
- Rate Sheet Templates: Upload and manage templates for sending rate sheets to customers.
- Email Options: Toggle settings such as "Email invoice as attachment" or "Auto-charge credit cards."
- Digital Signature: Enable digital signatures for your invoice PDFs.
- Mail Settings: Configure your default SMTP settings for system emails.
- License Information: View your current license key and expiration details.
Currency Tab
NEON is a multi-currency system. This tab allows you to configure all the currencies your business supports. You can add new currencies by specifying their code, symbol, and description.
Exchange Rate Tab
In this tab, you can manage the exchange rates for the currencies you've added. It also maintains an "Exchange Rate History," allowing you to track how rates have changed over time.
Tax Rates Tab
Configure the taxes applicable to your services. You can:
- Add new tax rates with specific percentage values.
- Edit or delete existing tax rates.
- Apply these rates to specific billing classes later on.
Time Zones Tab
Time zones are used to define different billing periods, such as "Peak" and "Off-Peak." While the system has a default time zone, you can add more to customize your rating based on the time of day or day of the week.
Trunks Tab
Trunks are primarily used by wholesale telecom providers for rating purposes. Here, you can define different trunk types (e.g., Premium, Standard, International) and assign them to vendor or customer rates to ensure accurate billing.
Services Tab
If you offer service-based billing, use this tab to manage your service offerings. Common examples include:
- VoIP / Hosted Telephony
- Broadband / Internet
- SMS Packages You can create and manage these services to include them in your customers' subscriptions.
Late Fee Tab
Automate late fee charges for overdue invoices.
- Type: Choose between a fixed amount or a percentage of the invoice total.
- Application: Set how often the fee should be applied (e.g., daily, weekly, or monthly).
Invoice Template Tab
Manage the look and feel of your invoices. You can create multiple templates to suit different business needs or customer groups. Each template can be customized to show specific fields and branding.
Billing Class Tab
Billing classes allow you to group customers with similar billing requirements.
- Customer Types: Create classes for Prepaid vs. Postpaid customers.
- Taxation: Separate customers who are tax-exempt from those who are not.
- Payment Terms: Assign specific payment terms, invoice templates, and late fee rules to each billing class.
Themes Tab
This tab provides white-labeling options to make the system look like your own.
- Branding: Upload your company logo and favicon.
- Customization: Use custom CSS to change background colors and other UI elements to match your brand's identity.
Retention Tab
Manage how long the system stores your data. By default, NEON does not delete data, but you can set retention policies (in days) for:
- CDRs (Call Detail Records)
- Failed calls
- Activity logs
- Download/Upload history
Customer Panel Tab
Control what your customers see when they log into their portal.
- Menu Options: Toggle visibility for sections like Invoices, Payments, and Subscriptions.
- Dashboard Widgets: Choose which widgets (e.g., Recent Transactions, Billing Details) appear on the customer’s main dashboard.
